A playthrough of Sierra’s 1991 graphic adventure remake for PCs running Dos, Leisure Suit Larry 1: In the Land of the Lounge Lizards.

For the 2013 remake:
And finally, the unofficial NES console version:
This 1991 remake to the original 1987 title features a number of updates, replacing the text parser with Sierra’s icon-driven mouse interface, the original 16-color EGA graphics with 256-color VGA graphics (including new hand-painted backdrops), and the original PC speaker audio with full soundcard support for digital effects and Adlib or midi music. This isn’t a mere slap-dash paint job – the entire game was rebuilt from the ground up (much like was done in the far more recent remake, LSL Reloaded).
Just like Space Quest, the remake overall makes for a much more streamlined, modern experience. Though some diehard fans of the original release complained about the changes, there really aren’t many negatives besides the somewhat reduced difficulty because of the new interface. The puzzles are largely the same, and the new presentation goes a long way in immersing you in the world of everyone’s favorite pathetic disco reject as he tries to get laid.
It’s hilarious and fairly adult for its time, but don’t get the wrong idea: laden with innuendo and “dirty” jokes though it may be, the great majority of it is pretty tame by current social standards. It is anything but pornographic – there isn’t even anything that you’d easily be able to call explicit. If you would be offended at a game suggesting that a hooker’s underwear is not edible, then this is not meant for you. If you can see the humor in the narration taking the time to point out such a thing, you’ll be amused the whole way through. I certainly was.
